Via Mobility

Transportation Options With Via

Via in rural areas (like Lyons) is open to the public. Anyone can request a ride.

Tuesdays: Via will transport Lyons residents to Longmont and back during the hours of 8am-4:30pm, free of charge.
Wednesday – Friday: Via will transport Lyons residents within the town of Lyons during the hours of 9am-1pm.  This means they will pick up/transport from a Lyons residence, take you somewhere in town, and bring you back to your Lyons home.  This would be a great option for getting to/from lunch at Walter Self.  You MUST live within the town proper (they will go as far west as Apple Valley Rd.)  If you aren’t sure, you can call them to find out.

To schedule a ride:  To register for Via's services you would call 303-444-3043
Once registered riders would call 303-447-9636 to schedule a trip.
To cancel a trip riders should call the 303-447-9636 number. If after hours they can leave a voicemail.

Via books trips 1-7 days in advance. It is "helpful" to book sooner than later as things fill up quickly. Same day is extremely difficult to get but someone can always try.

Capital Improvements and Projects

  • The Safe Route to School 4th Ave Pedestrian Bridge and Trail has begun mobilization and construction. The area near the St Vrain and Park St, Evans and 4th Ave will have the most work in the coming months as the work progresses in the river to install the bridge abutments. • Black Bear Hole and 2nd Ave Trailhead Improvements  have also fenced off the area and begun work to improve access and parking and a public restroom facility. This project is funded with $282K from lottery dollars through Great Outdoors Colorado. The project will require the closing of the pedestrian bridge in order to replace the boards of the bridge.
  • Longmont Water Pump Station Project began.  Railroad Ave between 2nd and 3rd will be closed for the next 2 to 3 months. The parking lot will also be closed for this project estimated to run through mid July. They will be excavating a 100’ by 50’ by 20’ deep hole for their pump station and Railroad Ave. will be closed for much of the time that this project is going on.
