The Lyons EcoPass provides residents with free use of any RTD bus and light rail service. This includes buses to the airport, and buses and light rail in and around Boulder, Longmont and Denver. View all the RTD transit routes and schedules here, or learn more about the Neighborhood EcoPass services.
For service from Lyons to/from Boulder - we have the Lyons Flyer public transportation which provides service Monday- Friday with two routes southbound in the morning and two routes northbound in the evening. Learn more about the Lyons Flyer and schedule.
Boulder County, in partnership with the Town of Lyons, City of Boulder, Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Via Mobility Services have worked to restore commuter transit bus service along US 36 between Lyons and Boulder. The service, rebranded as the “Lyons Flyer” will replace the Y route, formerly operated by RTD.
Typically, the EcoPass has a retail value of over $2,000!
Regular Adult (ages 20-64) – $40.00
Youth (ages 6-19) – $15.00
Children (ages 5 and younger) – FREE with a fare-paying adult (limit three children per each fare-paying adult).
Senior (over the age of 65) – $15.00
Lower Income - $10.00 (email EcoPass@townoflyons.com for more information)
The cost of purchasing multiple EcoPasses in an individual household is capped at $80! This means families save; for example, a family of two adults and three children only pay $80, instead of $125!
Apply for a New EcoPass
If you do not already have an EcoPass you need to apply for one. You can also apply for multiple EcoPasses per household. The following items are required:
- Photo ID(s) for adults (18+) [e.g. Drivers License];
- Proof of Lyons residence [e.g. Utility Bill w/ street address on it]
- Head shot for each applicant [w/ white background | no hats]
You can either come into Town Hall with your photo ID, proof of Lyons residence and pay by check (note all applicants must be physically present so we can take head-shots). Alternatively, you can complete a New EcoPass Application here. You will be directed to an online payment form upon submitting the application.
Passes normally arrive 15-25 working days after the application is submitted and payment is received.
EcoPass Annual Renewal
To renew an existing EcoPass, simply complete the EcoPass Renewal Application and pay the associated fee. You will be directed to an online payment form upon submitting the application. Please allow up to seven business days for review. Once approved, your existing EcoPass will be reactivated for the following year.
EcoPass Renewal: Discounted Rate
If you or your family members for whom you’re submitting the renewal application are eligible for a discounted rate (e.g. children, seniors, etc.) and want to transfer from the regular rate to the discounted rate, you will need to complete the renewal application, then pick up the Neighborhood Eco Pass Authorization Form from Town Hall. Once you’ve received the signed form, you must present a valid ID and the form at an RTD station. Unfortunately, the Town of Lyons cannot order you a new card if you already have a card issued.
Please direct questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Replace an EcoPass
If you have lost your EcoPass and need to replace it simply email email@example.com (include the following information in the email: Name, Address, and Phone Number), for the Town to issue an authorization form for a replacement. Alternatively, forms are available at Town Hall.
If you have paid your fee and your EcoPass is not working, there is a chance that this is because a pass hasn't been used for a while, or it may be corrupted. If this is the case, call RTD EcoPass support at 303.299.2273.
Please direct questions to firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-823-6622 ext. 35.
