This project entails enlarging the storm detention ponds in Bohn Park and installing new larger storm drain between the ponds as well as their connection to the storm drain system on 2nd Avenue. The current schedule is to be ongoing and be complete by the end of October.

All work described is subject to change based on weather conditions and materials supply.
Traffic Impacts –2nd Avenue will be closed starting on Sept 30 in the morning thru Friday afternoon, October 1 and then will be back open for the remainder of the project. The road between the detention ponds will be closed 9/30 Thursday and 10/1 Friday as we install a new storm drain connecting the ponds. Construction equipment will continue to cross 2nd Ave to transport materials from the staging area to the detention pond construction area. Parking will still be made available in the Wastewater Treatment Plant parking area if needed. .
Safety concerns – As work switches to the Bohn Park area, park users are encouraged to stay away from the construction equipment traffic around the detention ponds between the tennis courts and 2nd Ave. Please give the equipment space to work and do not impede their work space for your safety. This project will continue to have deep open trenches while they install the new storm drain, so please avoid getting close to these areas. As always, please adhere to the traffic control devices signs, closures and detours.
