4 Unique and Different Opportunities

To Give Your Input!

The Town of Lyons has 4 different opportunities below to gather residential input. Several projects would like your opinions, on our sidewalks, affordable housing, wayfinding signage and 2024 budget input.

Sidewalk Assessment

Sidewalk Assessment

Give your feedback

The Town has engaged with Consor Engineering to get a complete sidewalk assessment. Many sidewalks in Lyons are either inadequate, in disrepair, or there are locations where sidewalks simply do not exist. Most of these areas are in the historic parts of Town. This assessment includes an inventory and analysis of existing sidewalks, curb ramps, and marked crosswalks. Recommendations will identify future improvements for the pedestrian network.  Learn more about the project. and give your input today.

Broadway Road Improvments

Lyons Housing Future

Grant funded Housing Planning Input

This project kicked off in early August, with information provided at a free, summer concert. Thanks to so many of you who have already contributed to the Housing Futures Mapping Page for our consultant-led, state grant-funded, housing solutions plan. If you haven’t yet had the chance to visit and share your input, the survey remains open until October 10th to submit comment.

Wayfinding Input

Lyons Wayfinding Input

Requested via Survey

Wayfinding uses signage, color, and other design elements to help navigate a place. We kicked off the wayfinding discovery for Lyons last week and invite you to fill out this short survey. The goal of the new wayfinding plan is to help make it easier for folks to find their way around Lyons, while also creating designs that reflect the unique, friendly and colorful character of the community.

If you have a moment, please give your input via this short survey.

Budget Input

As the town begins winding down its flood related recovery projects from the past 10 years, the Board of Trustees would like to gather more input from residents regarding items that residents would like prioritized for the 2024 budget process.

We have created a short form on the Town website, where you may add your suggestions as a resident for the 2024 budget. townoflyons.com/budgetinput

Garbage Kills Bears

Remain Bear Aware

During hyperphagia

Black bears in Colorado are entering hyperphagia and will spend up to 20 hours a day trying to eat more than 20,000 calories to fatten up for winter. As bears start to prepare for hibernation and hunt for food, there might be increased bear activity in Lyons. Keep your trash in the garage or secure it until the morning of your trash pick up. Do not put it out the night before.

Locking up trash and other potential food sources from bears is important to prevent them from becoming reliant on these sources for food. Bears become more of a risk when they associate humans with a food source. Garbage kills bears.
