Styrofoam and Scrap Metal Pick Up
for Recycling at CHaRM
Thursday, Sept 9
As part of the Lyons Zero Waste Community efforts, Lyons Volunteers plan to do a scrap metal and #6 block Styrofoam pickup (NOTE: flexible Styrofoam, or other plastic items besides the solid block stuff won't be picked up) for Lyons residents on Thursday, August 9. The pickup will be from 9 a.m. to noon. As always, the helpful volunteers will wear masks and practice social distancing.
If you have items that you would like picked up for recycling, please fill out the online Help Request form at lyonsvolunteers.org or use the link below, by 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7. Please include an estimate of how much material you have. On the morning of the pickup, please put the material in plain view, or let the volunteers otherwise know where the materials will be for quick access.
Lyons Volunteers is now a program of Lyons Emergency Assistance Fund (LEAF). While there is no charge for this volunteer project, donations to LEAF are appreciated and may be sent to LEAF, PO Box 324, Lyons, CO 80540-0324.
So far in 2021, this Zero Waste volunteer effort has recycled over 2 tons of scrap metal and 18 cubic yards of block styrofoam for Lyons residents.
Thanks, Lyons Volunteers; we "heart" you!
