Kayak Rental Program
Have some fun in the river this summer--rent a kayak from the Town of Lyons! All rentals come with a kayak, paddle, life vest and helmet. All kayaks are singles. Rental kayak pick up is by appointment only. Please call number below to schedule.
One week rental: $60.
Two week rental: $ 100.
One month rental: $175.
Rest of season rental (until Sept. 15th): $225.
Spray skirt rental: $15. for up to a month
$25. for more than a month
Deposit required for all rentals: $250.

Fitness in the Park
This action packed class is all about helping you get outside and getting your body moving correctly. Taught by certified Health Coach and former X Pro Snowboarder Nate Kern, this class takes place in the inspiring setting of LaVern Johnson park and uses park features to aid in your workout. If you want to build strength, improve cardiovascular fitness, and reduce stress this class is for you. Join us for these fun and functional movement training sessions. Please bring water and a towel. Mats are optional.
Current Covid-19 regulations will be practiced in regards to social distancing allowing you to exercise without a mask if you prefer. Please bring a mask to wear when passing within 6' of others.
Ages: adults and kids ages 10+

Women's Mountain Biking Summer Class
Former Olympian (and now a Lyons local!) Ann Trombley is bringing her fun teaching style back to our town. Whether you're just starting out or are an intermediate rider, this class promises to improve your technique. Skills covered include neutral ready and braking, wheel lifts, climbing and descending, and cornering at low and high speeds. All participants need to arrive with a mountain bike in good working order, a helmet and a water bottle and dressed for changing weather conditions. Get ready to have a great time on the trails! Covid-19 safety precautions require a mask that can be easily pulled into place when within 6' of others.

Plein Air Painting
Enjoy our beautiful Lyons scenery while learning or improving on your watercolor techniques in this class offered in a park setting. Colors are brighter and the play of light adds new dimensions to the craft when practiced outdoors. Listen to the birds chirping, feel a gentle breeze and incorporate the sights before you into colors on the canvas. You will practice brushstroke technique, color blending, and learn the values and shapes of a botanical setting. Taught by Trish Murtha, an artist with over 30 years of experience in teaching to all ages, this class promises a new perspective on traditional watercolor.
Covid-19 precautions for this class include social distancing and separate supplies will be provided for the use of each student. Please bring a mask to wear when within 6' of others.

Challenger Soccer Camp
Challenger Soccer Camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily tournament. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides your child with lessons in respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership. Camp programs include a free ball and shirt and a free British Soccer jersey for online registrations 45 days prior to camp.
There is one scholarship for this camp, available to a family that has suffered financial loss due to Covid-19. To apply for the scholarship please email email@example.com

Women's Mountain Biking Fall Class
Join Lyons Recreation for another fun-filled class with Lyons local and former Olympian Ann Trombley. Whether you're new to the trails or looking to build on what you already know, Ann has the skills to get you there. The sessions will focus on braking, front and rear wheel lifts, ratcheting, switchbacks, rock dodge, track stands, tight corners and more. Start fresh with this class or build on what you learned in June. Each participant must arrive with a fully functional mountain bike, a helmet and a water bottle and be prepared for changing weather conditions.
