Everyone's favorite summer Thursday pastime continues with one last show. Don't miss Bonnie & the Clydes, closing out the series on August 15. Concert starts at 6:30 p.m., so pack up the family and blankets, and celebrate one more evening of Sandstone Park music!

Last Call for Cups

Miss your chance at a Lyons pint cup last week? We got you! Cups will be available at Thursday's Sandstone Summer Concert! All cup proceeds benefit the Lyons Community Foundation (LCF), who will have a limited supply of cups available. Find them at the popcorn stand.

Mobile Health Clinics Survey

Recently, the Town was approach by a mobile health clinic service provider regarding the possibility of bringing mobile health services to Lyons. This year's Art at River Bend will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019, along the North Saint Vrain Creek at River Bend. Dozens of artists of all mediums will have work for sale: paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, fiber and more! In addition to the Art & Crafts Sale, Art at River Bend will feature live demos, children's activities, food, libations and more.


Art at River Bend is a collaboration between the Boulder County Arts Alliance and the Lyons Arts and Humanities Commission.

Lyons Cemetery Walking Tour

Lyons Cemetery Walking Tour

Saturday, August 24 | 1 to 3 p.m.


The Lyons Cemetery Historic Walking Tour will take place on Saturday August 24, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Lyons Cemetery, located at Cemetry Circle at the north end of Third Avenue. The approximately forty-five minute tours will start at 1:00 p.m. and continue every half hour with the last tour departing at 3:00 p.m. Participants will learn the history of the cemetery and the stories of some of those buried there.

Just a few of the many stories included on the tour are the untimely death of Leonard Lyon, son of town founder E.S. Lyon; the story of the classical musician from Germany who came to Lyons for health reasons and brought music to a fledgling community; and the heroic mine worker who saved several men from death in a mine in Nederland.

The tours are free but donations are welcomed.Water and granola bars will be provided courtesy of the Redstone Museum.

Between August 26 and 27, a professional traffic company will be painting crosswalks and striping parking spots throughout town. Please be mindful of the extra people and equipment on the roads during this time.


New Date: LCF Free Grant Writing Seminar

Tuesday, August 27 | 6:30 to 8 p.m.


On August 27 (previously August 13), from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the Lyons Community Foundation will be offering a free grant writing workshop to all interested grant applicants. This seminar is intended for anyone considering applying for a grant, improving on a previous submission, or putting finishing touches on an application. Professional grant writer Lori Stott will guide attendees on best practices and how to make the most of their grant applications. While not required, applicants are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop.

Please RSVP by August 25 to Julie Jacobs, LCF Grant Committee Chair, to confirm your spot: grants@lyonscf.org. The program is scheduled for the new Lyons Library community room.

LaVern M. Johnson Park Closure

August 15 through August 18


From Thursday, August 15 through Sunday, August 18, LaVern M. Johnson Park will be leased to Planet Bluegrass for Folks Festival campers. During this time, Lyons residents may access LaVern M. Johnson Park with proof of residency, and will be limited to foot traffic only.
