Winter Wonderland Concert Series

The holidays may have ended, but the celebration of the season continues in Lyons, with two more Saturdays of small-town fun! On January 26, join the community in LaVern M. Johnson Park, for live music, free ice skating and skate rentals, hot cocoa, and winter festivities for the whole family. Help us keep this event green by bringing your own mug for hot cocoa!

Music Lineup

January 26: The Rampart Street Stompers, with hot cocoa donations going to the Lyons Community Foundation!

Skate or No Skate!

We'll still have live music and fun in the park, regardless of ice rink conditions.

Each week's event takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Parking in LaVern Johnson Park is free for event attendees.

Spend the afternoon with us before or after enjoying a bite to eat downtown. Lyons has you covered for some fun winter Saturdays!

Golf Carts in Lyons

Reminder to Parents & Students, from School Resource Officer Deputy Rosebrough

Street-legal golf carts and low-speed electric vehicles (LSEV) are utilized and well-loved by many in Lyons. However, as with any road vehicle, drivers and passengers of golf carts and LSEVs are held to the same level of accountability of safety as drivers and passengers of motor vehicles.

In order to keep these enjoyable vehicles operable in Lyons, it's important for drivers to be familiar with and adhere to their laws. Unlawful operation of golf carts and LSEVs is taken seriously by the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, and violators of such laws are subject to penalties, including issuance of a summons.

The following is a brief list of Lyons' golf cart and LSEVs laws:
  • The operator of a golf car or LSEV must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Any person age eighteen (18) or younger must be secured by at least a two-point seat belt at all times while operating or riding in an LSEV or golf car.
  • Golf carts and LSEVs may not be operated on any state highway, except to cross a state highway at a designated street intersection.
  • Golf carts and LSEVs may not exceed 25 mph, regardless of a greater posted speed limit.
  • Golf cart and LSEV operators must comply with all local and state traffic laws.
  • Operators may not carry more people or a greater load than that specified by the manufacturer. The driver and all passengers must be seated in the seat(s) designed and intended for such purpose.
  • Golf carts and LSEVs are to be properly equipped and registered, as provided by state law.
  • The operation of any all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is not permissible anywhere within the Town limits.
Please note this is not an exhaustive list. Visit Electric Vehicles, Golf Carts, and ATVs (Sec. 8-3-10) for the full code.

We thank you for doing your part in safe and legal use of golf carts and LSEVs, so these vehicles can be enjoyed in Lyons for years to come!

Free Mountain Lion Presentation by David Neils

People in LYONS are surrounded by incredible country where LIONS often roam...

Neils began monitoring wildlife at age five by tying dental floss across animal trails. Fourteen years ago he was face-bumped by a large mountain lion. Since then he’s been devoted to capturing wild footage of these majestic & mysterious predators.

He's bringing this Wild Mountain Lion Footage to Lyons in a FREE hour presentation (w/ Q&A) at Western Stars - cosponsored by Western Stars & Town of Lyons.
