Limited LaVern M. Johnson Park Access

Monday, August 14 through  August 21 at noon


Beginning Monday, August 14  through Monday, August 21 at noon, LaVern M. Johnson Park will be open only to residents of Lyons and Folks Festival campers with passes. Lyons residents may access LaVern M Johnson Park with proof of residency, and will be limited to foot traffic only - no vehicles. Please no dogs. This is per the lease agreement between the Town of Lyons and Planet Bluegrass.

Superintendent Dr. Don Haddad at Back to School Night for Lyons Middle & Senior High

Thursday, August 17 | 5:00 pm


Please join the Lyons Middle & Senior High School Booster Club this Thursday night, August 17, for a Question and Answer Open House with SVVSD Superintendent Dr. Don Haddad and Deputy Superintendent Jackie Kapushion.  Dr. Haddad and Ms. Kapushion will be in the cafetorium from 5:00-6:00 PM during Back-to-School night!  Refreshments provided.


Town of Lyons Email Temporarily Down

The Town of Lyons email server is temporarily down and the IT firm is working to fix and restore the email server. Currently, town staff and elected officials using the townoflyons.com email domain can not receive any email. The Town email newsletter (like this one) are sent via an admin module of the town website, not via town email servers.

Sandstone Summer Concert Series Continues

Rescheduled for August 17 & 31


The Sandstone Summer Concert, featuring Billy Shaddox Band, has been rescheduled for Thursday,  August 17. The Blue Canyon Boys will play the final Sandstone Summer Concert on Thursday, August 31. When a concert is cancelled due to weather, the Town of Lyons works with the band to reschedule for a date that the band is available. Thanks for your understanding.


Arts on the River

Arts on the River is a collaboration between Boulder County Arts Alliance and the Lyons Arts and Humanities Commission. The celebration and art show is  held along the North Saint Vrain Creek in Lyons at River Bend. Dozens of local artists in all mediums will have work for sale, including paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, fiber and more!

There will be live music from Kutandara and Sounds of Lyons, dancers from Mayama Movement Studio, food from vendors Savory Cuisines, Button Rock Bakery and Farmer Girl, and libations from Spirit Hound Distillers and B Town.

Volunteers for set-up and break-down are still needed. It's fun! Email BCAA if you are available to help with set-up from 11am - 1pm or from 7 pm - 9 pm.

Public Hearing | Short Term Rentals

The Planning and Community Development Commission will be holding a Public Hearing to consider Ordinance 1019, an Ordinance Adding a New Article 7 to Chapter 6 of the Lyons Municipal Code and Amending Certain Sections of Chapter 16 of the Lyons Municipal Code Regulating Short-term Rentals.

Members of the Public and other interested parties are hereby invited to attend the public hearing and may be heard or may submit written comments regarding the matter under consideration, to the Town Clerk at Town Hall, 432 5th Ave, Lyons, CO.
