McConnell Bridge Closure

On Monday, July 24, McConnell Bridge will be closed for geotech drilling and soil exploration - a primary step in preparing for bridge construction. The road will be closed throughout the day, beginning at 8 a.m. thru 5 p.m. (at the latest). Detour signs will be in place and residents are reminded to use 2nd Ave Bridge as a detour route. 

The engineer for McConnell Bridge is under contract the final design. Currently, bridge construction is anticipated to begin in mid-October. 

Limited LaVern M. Johnson Park Access

Sunday, July 23 through Monday, July 31 at noon

From Sunday, July 23 through Monday, July 31 at noon, LaVern M. Johnson Park will be open only to residents of Lyons and RockyGrass Festival campers. Lyons residents may access LaVern M Johnson Park with proof of residency, and will be limited to foot traffic only - no vehicles.

LaVern M. Johnson Park Parking

Beginning August 1, 2017, paid parking in LaVern M. Johnson Park will begin daily; previously, paid parking was only required on weekends. 

Lyons residents are reminded to sign up for their LaVern M. Johnson Park resident parking pass. One free resident parking pass will be issued to one vehicle per household. Residents may pay for an additional parking pass. 

Vehicles must have the parking pass displayed at all times when utilizing the parking area.
