Lyons High Baseball Heading to the State Championship
Help send the team off with a police & fire escort parade!
A message from Sgt. Bill Crist
Good afternoon Lyons,
As many of you may know already, our Lyons High School baseball team is heading to the state championships this Saturday, May 27!! Our tradition has always been to do a police/fire escort out of town for any team that reaches this level of competition to support the school and kids.
We will do the same for the baseball team, as we send them off to Pueblo to re-write the history books and bring home the 2A baseball championship! Since they are leaving on Saturday and a couple of players will be missing their graduation, we want to include as much of the town as possible, so here is the plan.
The chartered bus with our Coach of the Year, his coaching staff and our awesome players will be leaving the high school parking lot under police and fire escort (lights and sirens) at 7:00 am. We will go down McConnell to Ute and take a left and head into town on Main street. We will make the traditional parade loop around town and then head out. We will escort them to Ute and North Foothills and then send them on their way.
Please join us in lining the streets and stepping out of the business along Main street and Broadway to take a minute and cheer on the team as loud as you can!! These coaches and kids deserve a huge round of applause as they have recorded the best season record ever (19-3) and are poised to make a run for the championship!
“GO LYONS BASEBALL, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!”
Thanks,
Bill
