Official Town of Lyons Communication

From Mayor Connie Sullivan, on behalf of the Board of Trustees:

On the evening of Monday, Oct. 3, the Board was made aware of an investigation being conducted by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

On Oct. 7, the mayor was informed that the FBI’s portion of the investigation has concluded, and the agency will not be proceeding with a federal case. The Town has fully complied with the document production requirements of the subpoena, and no further documents are expected to be released. Because the requirements have been met, the subpoena has been made public on the Town’s website.

The administrative portion of HUD’s investigation is still underway. In the spirit of continued cooperation, the Board will maintain confidentiality on the details of the investigation.  At this time, there has not been a change regarding the status of the Town Administrator and Town Clerk, who will remain on temporary paid leave.

The Board has scheduled a special meeting for Monday, Oct. 10, to accept the 2017 draft budget, and has added an executive session to receive legal advice.
