From Mayor Connie Sullivan on behalf of the Board of Trustees:
Today, the Board of Trustees provided consent for federal authorities to conduct a search for documents as part of an investigation into the procurement processes for work performed on behalf of the Town of Lyons, as part of flood recovery efforts.
The Town is fully cooperating with the investigation and the Board is eager to know the outcome so that if corrective actions are needed, they can be promptly implemented. Throughout this process, the Board and Town staff will work to ensure Town operations and flood recovery projects continue to move forward.
The Board is committed to providing the citizens of Lyons a transparent accounting of how funds associated with the recovery have been managed. The Town’s legal counsel has asked that the Board withhold comment on the details of the investigation at this time, to ensure the outcome is not compromised in any way.
As we await the findings, the Board will communicate via the Town website and email system with updates. The Board has scheduled and publicly noticed a special meeting to be held in Chambers on Wednesday, October 5th at 7pm to discuss the plans for maintaining Town operations during this challenging time.
