Tree Drop off - One Day Only- Tomorrow!

Saturday, Jan 6 from 8 am - noon

Drop off your Christmas Tree on Saturday, January 6 from 8 am - noon at the Public Works Facility, 4687 Ute Highway. A cooperative effort of the Lyons Fire Protection District, the Town of Lyons and Boulder County is offering this free service as a convenience for residents, with the added benefit of keeping discarded trees/slash out of the landfill.  Remove all ornaments/tinsel etc.

If you can't make it on Saturday and you are a Western Disposal Compost Customer, you can place the tree next to the compost bin on compost day. Trees longer than 6' should be cut in half. If you don't have curbside compost, take the tree to their drop-off center at 1901 63rd St., Boulder. Trees are accepted through the end of January. Remove all ornaments/tinsel etc.

Housing Futures Plan Technical Draft

Town of Lyons Housing Futures Plan

Review Draft Available

Earlier this year, the Town received a grant from the State of Colorado to develop an updated housing needs assessment and identify innovative solutions to support the development of affordable and attainable housing. The work to date has centered around the comprehensive development of a Housing Futures Plan for the Town of Lyons that not only outlines affordability issues related to the town’s current housing stock, but also outlines future housing needs. This plan is intended to support near-term and future policy and regulatory strategies to address the identified housing needs of the community and builds on the goals outlined in the recently adopted Lyons Thrive! Comprehensive Plan.

The public is invited to review the current technical review draft of the document and provide feedback to the Board of Trustees. Two informational sessions are planned during the BOT’s January 2 and January 16 meetings.

Closed Jan 15

Town Hall Closure

Monday January 15th

Town Hall will be closed for the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday. The Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, January 16 at 7 pm due to the holiday.

Winter Blues

Winter time, long nights, shorter days and the holidays can present a number of challenges. When it comes to stress and mental health matters, sometimes there’s a tendency to want to wait it out and see how things go. But if you’re feeling anxious or depressed, now is the time to talk to someone. Take care of yourselves and others this season.
