Turf Management and Weed Mitigation

The Town of Lyons Parks and Public Works Department has scheduled services for Tuesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th for an all-organic fertilizer being applied in both Bohn and LMJ Park. Full details are provided here. The service will be done by SavaTree. The product being applied is Assure 8-0-6 Organic granular fertilizer. It is all-organic and has no synthetics. It will be applied per the recommended application rates.

Town staff and select Contractors will also continue the use of select non-synthetic, natural and organic weed control products both on main street and in some park areas where we are encountering weed issues. This product is OMRI rated. The link below is to the product we intend to utilize again in 2022. This will be done mostly in hardscape and rock bed areas. I have also included a link to the website, product label, SDS sheet and the Town weed management policy.

Discount Dog Days

Returning a lost pet to its owner is so easy when they are wearing their current Town of Lyons Dog License and an
Identification tag. Get your dogs licensed now during discount dog days. The Town of Lyons will be offering
discounts on dog licenses Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm during April at Lyons Town Hall. Annual dog licenses are valid from May 1 to April 30. If you’re unable to come into Town Hall during normal business hours, visit www.townoflyons.com/dog and download the application and place it, along with proof of rabies vaccination and the necessary fees, in the utility drop box in front of Town Hall.

2022 Dog Licensing Cost Information:

1st dog license: $30.00…but with discount is $20.00!

2nd and additional dog licenses: $20.00… but with discount is $10.00!

Note: The town will need proof of your dog’s current rabies vaccination, bring an
extra copy for the town to keep.

A commuter bus will soon be returning to Lyons! Meant to take the place of the previous “Y” route, this bus will provide service between Lyons and Boulder during the morning and evening commuter hours, Mon-Fri. You can help us pick the new name for the route by sending your suggestions to recreation@townoflyons.com

Free Curbside Collection of Tree Limbs

The Town of Lyons has hired Baer Forestry to pick up tree limbs within the town limits for residents only, on Monday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 17.

Second ANNUAL GARDEN TOUR!

Saturday, June 18 from 9 am to 1 pm

Mark your calendars for the Lyons Garden Club’s second annual Mountain Blooms Tour, being held on Saturday, June 18 from 9 am to 1 pm.

They will feature at least 10 local gardens to wander through with garden hosts on hand to answer all your questions. It is a fundraiser for the Lyons Garden Club, all donations will be returned to the common gardens they maintain throughout town. The Lyons Garden Club “making Lyons Beautiful, one flower at a time” since 2008.
