Bohn Park Stormwater Improvements

Bohn Park Stormwater Improvements

Closure begins August 30

This project entails enlarging the storm detention ponds in Bohn Park and installing new larger storm drain between the ponds as well as their connection to the storm drain system on 2nd Avenue.  The current schedule begins this week and is scheduled to be complete by the end of October.

This week crews will begin prepping the area for closures the next week. This includes the construction of a temporary access driveway into the Wastewater Treatment Plant parking lot.

Beginning on August 30th, 2nd Avenue will be fully closed between the Wastewater Treatment Plant driveway to approximately 100’ south on the Bohn Park Entrance. The waterline relocation and storm drain installation under 2nd Ave will continue for several weeks. Residents in Lyons Valley Park will need to go around the closure (via US-36) and enter over the new 2nd Ave Bridge in order to access the recycling center.

This is a storm water project to continue to build Lyons' resiliency.

US-36 Fiber Project Update

The recent construction of small cellular wireless facilities (“small cells”) on U.S. Highway 36 between Lyons and Estes Park is a public-private partnership between Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Crown Castle. Both the small cell facilities and the underlying property are owned by CDOT. Consequently, the Town of Lyons does not have a role in the permitting, the siting or construction of the small cells.  If you have any questions concerning the small cells please contact denver@crowncastle.com.  Thank you.
