RTD & Boulder County Transportation Meeting

Thursday, FEB 20 | 6 pm

Boulder County Transportation staff and RTD will be hosting a public meeting in Lyons, on FEB 20, beginning at 6 pm to discuss service reduction proposals and what it may mean for the Lyons EcoPass/ voucher program. The public meeting will seek input from residents and provide an update on the proposed frequency options.

RTD is proposing the following service reductions in Boulder County:

Y (route to Lyons) – Discontinue the northbound 6:39 pm trip and the southbound 5:35 am and 6:35 am trips.

The service reductions would take effect May 17, 2020, and there is no current timeframe for how long “temporary” would be.

US-36 CDOT Construction Muggins Gulch

CDOT Construction Work US-36

Beginning in early March

A 30-day full closure of US 36 at MM 8 (West of Lyons on the way to Estes Park) is planned from March 9 through April 10.

In addition CDOT will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, FEB 25, from 6 - 8 pm in Lyons at the Lyons Regional Library to update residents about the project and the upcoming closure and detours.

Tract A, Lyons Valley Park filing no. 8

In accordance with Chapter 16 Article 17 of the Lyons Municipal Code the applicant recently submitted a substantially complete Development Plan application for the development at 0 Carter Drive, also known as Tract A, Lyons Valley Park filing no. 8, a Plat recorded December 23, 2008 with reception number 2970292, County of Boulder, State of Colorado.

The Development Plan review process will focus on the 21 multifamily units at the address above and not the single-family units that will also be built as part of the affordable housing development. The single family home lots are already platted and entitled.

The application packet has been sent to the referral agencies to be reviewed after which time the public hearing process will commence. The schedule of public meetings will be posted by the Town.

Goodwill Grant

Applications due March 1, 2020

The Town of Lyons is pleased to announce the 2020 Goodwill Grant Funding cycle, to support human services in the Lyons and the surrounding area. Applications for grants from the Goodwill Grant Fund are accepted now through March 1, 2020.
