Saturday, Nov. 16 | Wastewater Treatment Plant


On Saturday, November 16, between 9 a.m. and noon, bring your leaf piles to the wastewater treatment plant (198 2nd Ave.) for free drop-off! The leaves collected will be responsibly composted at a commercial site.

Join the Lyons Recreation Department for another fun-filled art class. Working with paint, markers, fabrics, assorted objects, and tissue paper, artists will use mixed media techniques to create beautiful mason jar luminarias. These candle holders make lovely holiday gifts. Trish Murtha returns with her fun and informative style to teach this class, bringing over 30 years experience teaching art to students of all ages.

The Lyons Arts and Humanities Commission (LAHC) is pleased to announce the completion of the first Creative Outlets program! The pilot utility box, located on the south side of the tennis court in Bohn Park, was designed and painted by artist Jennifer Chaparro. Through an anonymous process, Jennifer's design was chosen by a selection committee, and the work was finalized in early November.

The bright glow of the holidays is once again coming to the Town of Lyons on December 7! The annual Holiday Parade of Lights is an exciting community tradition, which includes music, fireworks, and a stunning parade through town.The parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m., followed by the fireworks display, beginning at 7:40 p.m.

We Appreciate Your Support!

This staple event aims to strengthen community and inspire togetherness, and we're asking for your help. It is in huge thanks to generous donors that this spectacular event remains just that. All donations directly support the costs of the parade and fireworks show - a production exceeding $8,500 annually. We thank you in advance for your contribution toward continuing this special Lyons tradition for years to come.
