Lyons Valley River Park

Additional Work through December

Additional rework to the ponds area of the Lyons Valley River Park project began the week of October 28. The construction will continue through December and include some Saturdays, starting with November 2, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The work will encompass both ponds, including access areas and in between the ponds. This work will require heavy equipment, and the area remains closed to the public. Additional landscaping will take place once the weather warms in spring. Project managers anticipate a Spring 2020 opening.

There's still time to vote! Boulder County residents can drop-off mail ballots at the 24-hour Lyons Town Hall drive-by drop-off location, located outside Town Hall's south entrance. Signed ballots are due by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5.

Pothole Patching

Rescheduled for the week of November 4


Beginning Monday, November 4, crews will be patching and filling potholes on 2nd Avenue, between the 2nd Avenue bridge and Evans Street, and on 4th Avenue, between Main Street and Broadway. They will also work on the east crosswalk of 4th and High St., on the west end of Lyons Elementary's driveway.

Traffic may temporarily be closed to one lane while the setting takes place. Please be cautious of workers when driving along these areas.

Entries due by November 17


Boulder County Parks & Open Space staff will be conducting a random drawing for 100 permits for residents to cut their own lodgepole pine trees at Reynolds Ranch Open Space, 11212 Magnolia Rd. in Nederland, on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8. Entries are due by Thursday, Nov. 17, at midnight.

Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)

Low-Income Energy Assistance Program


The Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) helps people pay the costs of their home heating bills in the winter months.
The LEAP program operates November 1 through April 30. Income limits have increased this year to open the program up to more Coloradans.

USA Track & Field Junior Olympic State Championship

The USA Track and Field Colorado Junior Olympic State Championship Meet will be held in Lyons at Bohn Park, on Saturday, November 9. Event planners expect four hundred (400) runners and their families to be in attendance.
