Lyons Sheriff's Substation, 430 Park Ave.


The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. On Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., unused or expired medication can be safely disposed of at the Boulder County Sheriff's Substation in Lyons, 430 Park Ave. (next to Town Hall).

Lyons, and tigers, and bears - oh my! The spooky season has arrived! Grab your costume and join the community on today, October 26, for the 2019 Lyons Halloween Spooktacular. This year's activities include the Stone Cup Chili Cook-off, music, Bongo the Balloon Man, live performances by the Pride of the Roaring Lyons Show Choir, tricks, treats, and games for ghouls and goblins, all leading up to the parade through Town.

Games & Activities

Games and activities will be held at Lyons Elementary School east playground, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Feed the Cookie Monster Toiletries

Help support the Lyons Emergency Assistance Fund (LEAF), by donating new and unused toiletries! Please bring donations to the spooky games and activities at Lyons Elementary, and look for the Cookie Monster can!

Downtown Trick-or-Treating

All are welcome to be a part of the parade! The parade lineup will begin at 5:45 p.m., on 3rd and High St. in front of the elementary school; the parade down Main Street will begin promptly at 6 p.m., followed by downtown trick-or-treating at 6:30 p.m.

Lyons' annual events, such as the Halloween Spooktacular, have a deep tradition in community involvement, and couldn't happen without a team of volunteers. This year's shifts are short (2-hour max) and full of ghostly fun! Your support for our special, long-standing events are essential and greatly appreciated. Sign up for a shift today!

Pothole Patching

Pothole Patching, 2nd & 4th Ave.

Beginning October 28 -weather permitting


On Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29, crews plan to be patching and filling potholes on 2nd Avenue, between the 2nd Avenue bridge and Evans Street, and on 4th Avenue, between Main Street and Broadway. They will also work on the east crosswalk at 4th and High St.

Traffic may temporarily be closed to one lane while the setting takes place. Please be cautious of workers when driving along these areas.
