Arbor Day Celebrations

Shout-out to Lyons Elementary!

In recognition of Arbor Day (April 19, 2019) and the importance of trees, several local organizations have organized activities, in the name of trees. On April 3, Lyons Elementary 2nd graders planted 50 willow stakes along the creek bank in LaVern M. Johnson Park. The newly planted willows are marked to denote the willow's growing progress, as well as to remind passersby to help the willows grow, by enjoying the young willows from a distance and avoiding touching the stakes.

A special thanks to the Lyons Elementary 2nd Graders!
