November 6, 2018 Election

The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. All active registered voters will be automatically mailed a ballot to the address on their voter registration record, beginning Monday, October 15. 

Election Dates

October 15 – Ballots mailed to voters and 24-hour ballot boxes open
October 21 – Voter Service Centers open (visit these if you would like to vote in person) 
October 29 – Last day to register and still receive a ballot in the mail (otherwise you need to vote in person) 
November 6 – Election Day – Last day to vote or drop off ballot by 7 p.m. (but please do it earlier!)

New! 24-Hour Ballot Drop-Box

A Boulder County Ballot drop-box has been placed at Lyons Town Hall (432 5th Ave.). Ballots may be dropped off to the new 24-hour return box, beginning Monday, October 15.

The mail ballot packet includes a detailed list of other ballot drop-off locations throughout Boulder County, along with a list of Voter Service and Polling Centers that will be open to the public.


  • Lyons residents are encouraged to vote in every election. Residents may register to vote or update registration through Boulder County Elections or Colorado Secretary of State.
  • Track your mail ballot. Sign up for Ballot Track at to receive messages by email, text or phone when your mail ballot is printed, mailed, and received back by Boulder County Elections.
  • In-person voting. To vote in person, visit one of the Voter Service and Polling Centers listed in your mail ballot packet.
  • Vote early! Once you decide how to vote, return your mail ballot. Returning your ballot early has never been easier since there are now TWELVE secure, videotaped 24-hour mail ballot drop boxes in Boulder County.
