Discount Dog Days - last few days!

APRIL 1 - 30 ONLY

The Town of Lyons will be offering discounts on dog licenses through the month of April at Lyons Town Hall (Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm). Annual dog licenses are valid from May 1 to April 30 of each year. Discounted prices will only be available in April. Those who are unable to come into Town Hall during normal business hours may visit the Town of Lyons website to download the application and may place it, along with proof of rabies vaccination and the necessary fees in the green utility drop box in front of Town Hall.

2018 Dog Licensing Cost Information:
1st dog license:
Regularly $30.00, but during Discount Dog Days, only $20.00!

2nd and additional dog licenses:
Regularly $20.00, but during Discount Dog Days, only $10.00! 

Note: The town will need proof of your dog’s current rabies vaccination, so please provide an extra copy for the Town to keep for records.

National Drug Take Back Day

National Drug Take Back Day

Saturday, April 28

The DEA's National Drug Take Back is Saturday, April 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.

This year, there will not be a collection station in Lyons; however, several locations in neighboring communities are available for drop-off.

2018 Lyons Spring Clean


Community-Wide Garage Sale: Saturday, May 12 | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The intent of the community-wide garage sale is for area residents, clubs, churches, groups, etc. to host garage sales around town on Saturday, May 12th. For those outside Town limits, or who would prefer not to host a sale at their residence, space is available at Sandstone Park. The park can be used for “flea market” type venue, free of charge. Interested parties will be responsible for their own table, chairs, and other set-up supplies, as well as completely packing out all items at the end of the sale. If you intend to host a garage sale either at the park or at your home please email Toby Russell. In addition to the yard sale there will be a fix-it clinic at Sandstone Park where you can bring items that need fixing to expert fixers!


Eco-Cycle Clinics: Saturday, May 12 | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During the Community-Wide Garage Sale, Eco-Cycle will be hosting three different zero-waste clinics at Sandstone Park:

  1. Lyons U-Fix-It Clinic (9:00 AM TO 1:00 PM)
    Something broken? Learn how to fix it with help from our volunteer U-Fix-It coaches! Join us for the first ever Lyons Repair Day, a collaboration of the Boulder U-Fix-It Clinic, Eco-Cycle, Oracle Volunteers, and Lyons Volunteers. You can bring any appliance, lamp, toy, furniture, clothing/fabric item -- any sort of broken thing! We'll have a toolbox and supplies for each workstation, but you should also bring any parts or tools that might be helpful for the repair.   2. Green Cleaning Workshop (10:15 AM TO 11:00 AM)
    Join Eco-Cycle for a fun, family-friendly workshop full of tips on how to reduce waste and toxic products in your home! You’ll learn how to make non-toxic household cleaners, pack a waste-free lunch, replace disposable products with reusable ones, and more! Please let us know you’ll be coming. RSVP here!

  3. Zero Waste in your Workplace Workshop (11:00 AM TO 12:00 PM) 
    Most people spend about ? of their day in the workplace. We have a lot of control over how eco-friendly our homes are, but what if our workplaces don’t demonstrate those same values? We’ll be talking about tips to reduce your individual waste at work and help nudge your whole workplace toward Zero Waste. Please let us know you’ll be coming. RSVP here!


Cleanup Day: Saturday, May 19 | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On the following Saturday, May 19, the Lyons area cleanup day will take place at the Waste Water Treatment Plant area on 2nd Avenue, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. This year, Lyons utility bills are not necessary to participate - area residents are welcome to bring items for recycling, donation, and disposal. The goal of this event is reduce landfill items by providing responsible disposal of items that otherwise could not be recycled locally.
