There's been a few changes since last year... The Town employs eight Parks and Public Works maintenance staff, who, along with the assistance of the Boulder County jail crew, are responsible for the entire holiday display. Concurrently, the same eight are also responsible for the ongoing maintenance requirements around town, which include utilities, grounds, parks needs, and emergencies.
This year, in place of a light show in Sandstone Park, the team has worked hard to cover more area and total number of trees and posts, with new varieties of holiday décor placement. Last year, following the completion of the East Main Streetscape project, the holiday decorations were expanded to a few of the new light posts along East Main/US-36 – the first year to place lights along East Main; this year, the light display is expanded further than ever along the mid-corridor. Also new this year is the extension of lights into LaVern M. Johnson Park.
