We Need Your Help!

The annual Lyons Holiday Parade of Lights is an exciting community tradition, made possible by volunteer support! Check out this year's volunteer opportunities, and be a part of this cherished community event! The Town has also taken on the Holiday Bazaar this year, which will be Dec. 2 and 3.

Each volunteer position is vital for the overall production, and we recognize and appreciate each volunteer. Thanks for your help, as we ring in the holiday season...Lyons style!

Check out the full details, and take center stage in this year's Holiday Parade of Lights!

This longstanding event runs on a increasingly tight budget, for the sole purpose of community togetherness and holiday cheer. Your tax-deductible support helps fund the production, marketing, labor costs, and continuity of each year's event.

Please help the annual Parade of Lights maintain its glow through Lyons for years to come, and donate today.

Thanks so much for your support. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Fireworks and Pets

We love our pets and the company they provide at events. However, if you're planning to bring your furry pal to the Holiday Parade of Lights, please note some of the risks involved, and consider leaving Fido home for the evening.

Fireworks. For most pets, fireworks induce a special kind of terror. The Parade of Lights fireworks show is conducted less than a mile away, causing very loud and big explosions, from downtown Lyons.

Crowds. The Parade of Lights draws thousands of people each year, including families and small children. While we work hard to alleviate over-crowding, there will inevitably be situations of tight corridors. Such environments may induce pet anxiety, which can lead to unwarranted outcomes.

Loud Noises. When combined, the cheering from the crowds, honking and other sounds from parade floats, music, and the fireworks produce the perfect storm of confusion and stress for our canine friends.

Please keep these factors in mind when considering bringing your pet to the Holiday Parade of Lights. Leaving them at home will not only relieve you and others of stressful encounters, but Fido will thank you!
