Slash Pile Burning

Week of Oct. 9

Throughout the week of Oct. 9, the Town, in conjunction with Lyons Fire Protection District, will be conducting slash pile burns at the wastewater treatment plant (off 2nd Ave.). Smoke and flames may be visible through the week, including during the night. 

The burns are fully contained and on a monitoring system.

Tree Trimming

Monday, Oct. 9 through Friday, Oct. 13

Throughout the week of Oct. 9. the Parks & Public Works team will be trimming trees along overhead power lines throughout the northern region of Town (north of Broadway), as a continuation of the town-wide efforts. They will be working in the right-of-ways, which includes alleys and streets. Please help the efficiency of this project, by ensuring vehicles aren’t blocking any right-of-way-access.   

CDOT US-36 Road Work

Week of Oct. 9

CDOT’s US-36 pavement project through Lyons was previously delayed due to weather and the fallen power line. CDOT plans to work only Wednesday and Thursday this week, and anticipate the road to remain as two lanes while construction takes place.

Signal Pole Replacement at 4th and Main

Week of Oct. 9

Along with the pavement project, CDOT also plans to replace a signal pole and update signal controllers at 4th Ave. and Main St., during the week of Oct. 9. They will be primarily working along the west side of 4th Ave., south of Main St. They anticipate both lanes will remain open on 4th Ave., between Main St. and Railroad, but parking will be limited for the duration of the project.
