Stream Flow Conditions
As of 12:15 p.m. today, June 9, the St. Vrain Creek is flowing at 1210 cfs. The Lyons Area Fire Protection District has notified Town Officials that Ralph Price Reservoir will be discharging higher than average volumes of water; thus, the flows through Town will continue to increase.
The new stream design is engineered for the capacity of 1,400 cfs. Nuisance flooding may begin at the 1250 cfs level, which can consist of bank overflow and puddling in low areas. Currently, the Lyons Fire Protection District, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of Lyons are communicating and monitoring any significant changes.
