Call to Artists

The Town of Lyon Arts and Humanities Commission (LAHC) invites artists to create a public mural as part of the Town’s mission to nurture and celebrate arts and culture in Lyons.

The mural will be on a  “canvas” of approximately 26 feet wide X 9 feet tall. This building is on a very prominent location along the main thoroughfare, with thousands of visitors traveling from points west, including Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as on a busy pedestrian walking area.

For more information regarding detailed design sketches, description of past mural/public art experience, and an artist statement visit:

Garbage Kills Bears

Be Bear Aware

The Bears are Back

After months of napping, the bears in Colorado are stretching out and ready to roam. They're trading in their cozy den for some serious snack hunting. Remember they are hungry.

So... do NOT put your trash out the night before. Instead, be sure to keep your garbage in your garage or stored until the morning of your trash pick up. Or use a bear proof trash bin.

Bring in any bird feeders. Bring in pet food. Do not make your yard the hottest bear buffet in town. Be bear smart. Be bear aware. Garbage kills bears.
