Protect Your Home from Wildfire

Protecting Your Home and Property from Wildfire

Living in the wildland-urban interface, as we do in Colorado, where homes and other structures intermingle with wildland vegetation, is a risk of being affected by wildfire.
Planning ahead and taking action can increase the likelihood your home survives when a wildfire occurs. Learn more from the Colorado State Forest Service on how to protect your home better and create defensible space.

Xpress Bill Pay

Town of Lyons Utility Billing Customers

In an effort to reduce billing costs and to move forward with sustainability goals, the Town is converting to paperless billing. A $5 one time credit will be issued to customers who are not currently enrolled with paperless billing to encourage them to switch to paperless within the next 90 days, through March 31, 2025. If you are already enrolled and receive your bill online, thank you. There will not be a retroactive credit.

The move to all online only will take effect April 1, 2025. Effective April 1, 2025 there will be a $2 monthly charge for those customers who do not convert to paperless billing and continue to receive a paper bill. The paperless billing is free to sign up, accepts credit & debit cards, and direct checking account transfers as forms of payment. The online site provides the ability to set automatic monthly payments, as well as access the monthly billing history of your utility account. Customers who still need to sign up for online billing should visit: townoflyons.com/onlinebilling

Customers eligible for low-income utility services, may request an exemption of the $2 per month fee by contacting the Town directly.

Old Man Winter Rally

Old Man Winter Rally - Bike and Run

Sunday, February 2, 2025

The Old Man Winter Rally returns again this year for the 11th year. Based in Bohn Park, the running and cycling events will leave between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm with riders and runners headed out on 2nd Ave.

As part of their special event permit, 2nd Ave will be closed to vehicles on Sunday, February 2 from 8 am - 5 pm from Park St to the Bohn Park entrance and Recycling Center entrance. Drivers will need to detour around via US-36 and to McConnell and 2nd Ave, to bypass the temporary closure. The closure will be signed and staffed by the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. All fees for the Sheriff services are paid by the event organization. There will be intermittent short closures along 2nd Ave towards McConnell when the bicycle riders start. These short closures will be for 15 minutes.

If you are interested in volunteering, sign up today. All volunteers will receive a hot meal, Old Man Winter swag.  It's a great way to get involved with a fun event!
