Different Opportunities

To Give Your Input!

The Town of Lyons has a few upcoming opportunities below to gather residential input. Several projects are in process and resident input and feedback is important to share with the BOT.

2025 Budget Input

The Board of Trustees would like to gather more input from residents regarding items that residents would like prioritized for the 2025 budget process. The short online form also asks residents to share which capital improvements (streets, stormwater or wastewater) are the most important.

We have created a short form on the Town website, where you may add your suggestions as a resident for the 2024 budget. townoflyons.com/2025budgetinput

Safe Streets For All

Safe Streets for All

Give your feedback

Improving pedestrian safety continues to be a priority for the Town of Lyons. While the Town is only 1.3 square miles, we are intersected by US-36 and also have SH-7 and SH-66 which go through our small town.

This federally funded safety project seeks to identify, understand, and reflect the community’s needs and desires for safer streets and access within Lyons, including improvements to traffic operations, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, lighting, access to schools and businesses, parking, and streetscape design.

Recommendations will identify future improvements. The Town would like to know the specific areas of concern related to pedestrian safety and our roadways.  Learn more about the project and give your input via a short survey today.

Garbage Kills Bears

Remain Bear Aware

During hyperphagia

Black bears in Colorado are entering hyperphagia and will spend up to 20 hours a day trying to eat more than 20,000 calories to fatten up for winter. As bears start to prepare for hibernation and hunt for food, there might be increased bear activity in Lyons. Keep your trash in the garage or secure it until the morning of your trash pick up. Do not put it out the night before.

Locking up trash and other potential food sources from bears is important to prevent them from becoming reliant on these sources for food. Bears become more of a risk when they associate humans with a food source. Garbage kills bears.
