Lyons Spring Clean Weekend & Drug Take-Back
May 21 & 22
Each Spring, the Town of Lyons, led by the Sustainable Futures Commission, provides residents the opportunity to meet spring cleaning needs, without leaving town. This weekend of May 21 & 22 is a double hitter with a Community-Wide Yard Sale and a Cleanup Day.
For the Community-Wide Yard Sale, on Saturday May 21, the SFC not only helps with marketing for participating residents/clubs/organizations yard sales, but also offers free spots in Sandstone Park, for those who do not wish to sell items from their homes.
The Cleanup Day, on Sunday May 22, in Bohn Park, allows residents to dispose of items that otherwise aren’t collected by haulers, including, old equipment, electronics, metals, yard waste, prescription drugs, and more. This event is supported in part by Boulder County. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to help residents.
DEA Drug Take-Back
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of Lyons will be partnering in the DEA Drug Take-Back day. This will be a drive-thru drop off; just stop by the tent located in Bohn Park, roll down your window, and a deputy or representative will take the items from you.
Items NOT allowed are inhalers, needles, chemotherapy drugs and any liquids.

Branch Chipping
Drop-off Branches by May 24
Since 2013, the Town has discontinued curbside chipping. The Town invites you to drop off branches and limbs to Bohn Park on the old Vasquez softball field, adjacent to the tennis courts, by end of day May 24 - a chipper will be brought in on May 25. Any material other than branches will not be accepted. If you are unable to haul yard waste to the park, you may submit a request to the Lyons Volunteers, at lyonsvolunters.org.
Please remember that it is illegal to place branches and unwanted limbs on Town & CDOT right-of-way property, which includes alleyways and any property in the buyout program.
