Yesterday, September 29^th, 2022, the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners voted 2-1 to DENY the CEMEX application for 15 years of additional mining at Dowe Flats. The motion put forth by the County Commissioners was to deny, and Commissioners Loachamin and Levy voted Yes (deny), while Commissioner Jones voted No (approve). Earlier in September, the Boulder County Planning Commission also unanimously voted to recommend denial to the County Commissioners. The original mining permit was approved in 1994 and expires today, September 30, 2022.
