CEMEX Referral Response


The Board of Trustees held a public meeting on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 to receive community input and public comment in order to form a response on behalf of the Town of Lyons to the Boulder County Planning Commission regarding CEMEX's request for a 15  year mining extension. The Town of Lyons'  response is posted on the Town's website. The referral was due to Boulder County before their July 22, 2022 deadline.

In addition, the Boulder County Planning Commission is hosting a public meeting beginning at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 regarding their review and recommendation to the Boulder County Commissioners. The CEMEX item is number 5.4 on the agenda and they will be taking public input. Due to COVID-19, Planning Commission hearings are currently being held virtually. Information regarding how to participate will be available on the Planning Commission webpage approximately one week prior to the hearing at https://boco.org/PC. Summit Housing Groundbreaking

Summit Housing Groundbreaking

10:30 am Friday, August 5 

Please join State and Local Officials for the groundbreaking for the Summit Housing Development. at Carter Drive and McConnell in Lyons. The groundbreaking begins at 10:30 am on Friday, August 5 and will officially kick off the start of work for the affordable housing development, which has funding from the Colorado Division of Housing and is one of the final flood recovery projects. The plans include 24 single family & 16 multi-family homes.
