Free performance| 7 pm Sunday, July 17

At 7 pm on Sunday, July 17  the Town of Lyons and The Butterfly Effect Theater of Colorado (BETC) present Dorothy's Dictionary, a powerful, heartwarming and timely new play by E.M. Lewis.  A very unique presentation of mobile theater with its own traveling stage, the BETC truck will be parked at the southeast edge of Bohn Park, 199 2nd Ave, for free admission to this play which begins at 7 pm. 

Please bring your own blanket and/or chairs.  Feel free to walk, bike or stroll for this fun, family night in Bohn Park.

The mission of BETC’s new touring theatre truck program brings free professional theatre into local communities, serving people where they live. It is free to all and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. For more Information on the tour, visit: www.betc.org/truck



Art At River Bend

Noon - 7 pm | Sunday, July 17 

Back after a brief hiatus, the popular "Art at River Bend" will take place from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 on the gorgeous grounds of the River Bend event venue at 501 W. Main St. along the banks of the rolling St. Vrain Creek.  The event is presented through the cooperative efforts of the Lyons Arts and Humanities Commission (LAHC) and the Boulder County Arts Alliance (BCAA) and showcases area artists in a wide variety of media for guest's to discover and for purchase. Attendees also will have the opportunity to enjoy locally crafted food and drinks, live demos, and more. The event is free to the public, with limited parking available on-site for $5. Public Meeting

Board of Trustees - Special CEMEX Meeting

Tuesday, July 19 at 5:00 pm


The Board of Trustees would like to hear from Lyons residents regarding the extension of the Dowe Flats Mining Permit.

Cemex began Dowe Flats mining operations on September 30, 1997, with a 25 year permit granted by Boulder County scheduled to end on September 30, 2022. Boulder County Planning and the Board of Boulder County Commissioners are now considering extending the mining permit for another 15 years. Join the Board of Trustees meeting during public comment and give your input and feedback. The public meeting begins at 5 pm and will be virtual via zoom. The link and agenda will be posted at least 24 hours in advance in the Agenda Center.

In Lyons beginning July 18


Construction crews will be in Lyons for work along the CO 7 corridor, west of the North Saint Vrain Creek bridge. As crews are working, please do not park your vehicles on either side of the CO 7 corridor.

Please see the tentative work schedule  (work is weather dependent and subject to change):
• Monday July 18 Watch for single lane closures and alternating traffic for milling operations. Watch for 20 minute delays.
• Wednesday July 20 Watch for single lane closure and alternating traffic for paving operations. Delays in accessing CO 7 from residential streets may be up to one hour as asphalt cools and is compacted.

The Growth Framework defines the types of land uses that are currently present or envisioned for the future in different areas of Lyons and includes an overview of Lyons' planning areas. Each area has a unique vision for the future and this framework will guide land use decisions over the next 10 to 20 years. Take the survey and let us know what you think any time before July 31!

 A full draft of the Lyons Thrive Comprehensive Plan will be available in early September, stay tuned for more input opportunities.




Lyons Flyer

Lyons Flyer Daily Transit Service


Boulder County, in partnership with the Town of Lyons, City of Boulder, Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Via Mobility Services is restoring commuter transit bus service along US 36 between Lyons and Boulder.  The service, rebranded as the “Lyons Flyer,” will replace the Y route, formerly operated by RTD. 

The transit service will operate twice daily, Monday - Friday for Lyons to/from Boulder. For complete details, visit the updated website.  We are working to get the schedule to be mobile phone friendly. See you soon on the Bus!

The 2022 series is back! Now on Wednesday evenings through August 17th. We're on to week 7!  Mark your calendar for Wednesdays this summer and and reconnect with your neighbors or meet new friends. Don't miss it! View the summer line up!

We look forward to our partnership with the Lyons Community Foundation which supports this annual 10-week series. We expect food trucks for the remainder of the summer series.



Dark Skies - Lights Out Lyons

Friday, August 5 

Town of Lyons residents and businesses are invited to go "lights out" on Friday, August 5, during one of the peak viewing nights of the Perseid meteor shower.  Take a stroll to Bohn Park for an event featuring guided star talks with a variety of telescopes, acoustic music and stargazing.
