Rocky Mountain Botanic Gardens

Annual Plant Sale - Postponed till May 28
Due to the potential snow this weekend

NEW DATE! The Rocky Mountain Botanic Gardens will be holding their annual plant sale fundraiser on Saturday May 28, 2022, from 9am – 3pm. There will be a wide variety of beautiful, tough native plants available for $7 each, sized in 4” pots. Visitors can see the same plants growing in the garden and chat with volunteers about how, where, and why to grow them. They will also have hanging baskets of cheerful annuals available for $35, and RMBG T-shirts for $15.

They invite interested residents and guests to come by to enjoy the spring flowers, support the nonprofit that keeps the garden green, and mingle with our plant-loving community.

The sale will be held at the Gardens, which is located near the intersection of 4th Ave. and Prospect St., along the access path into Bohn Park.

Spring Clean!

It's time for some spring cleaning!

Postponed - till May 28
Due to the potential snow this weekend

NEW DATE!  The Town of Lyons, along with the Sustainable Futures and the Parks and Recreation Commissions, is sponsoring a river, parks, and trail clean up on Saturday, May 28 from 8:30 am – 10 am.  This is a great opportunity to get involved and make a positive impact on our community. Last spring, the clean up drew over 100 volunteers who collected 166 pounds of recycling, 200 pounds of scrap metal, and 337 pounds of trash.

We will meet at Bohn Park near the shelter and restroom building between 8:15 am and 8:30 on Saturday, May 28 and head out from there.  Grab a pair of gloves, your hat, some sunscreen, and join us to pick up trash, pull weeds, and do your part to clean up and spruce up the Town's parks and trails!  Plan for about 1.5 hours of service.
At the 8:15- 8:30 am registration and kickoff in Bohn Park, you will be assigned a cleanup area and provided with a waiver form and trash bag. Let's do this Lyons!

Limb Pick-up Information and Update

The Town's contractor, Baer Forestry began the limb pick up on the north side of town on Monday, May 16. There are a lot of limb piles that still remain, especially along the south side of town. Please know that they are working as best they can to get to all of the piles.
There may be a small delay with this small, winter-like moisture event. It is the intent of the Town and of Baer Forestry to finish and complete the job. Our residents have been proactive to reduce limbs in their yards, maybe as part of wildfire mitigation. We expect a few more days of work to wrap the project up. Parks and public works staff have also been in contact regarding what areas still remain. Thanks in advance for your understanding!
