Hydrant Testing and Flushing

We are planning to do hydrant testing and flushing on Monday,  April 26th starting around 1 pm near the intersections of  1st Ave, 2nd Ave and Mountain View. This may cause discoloration of the water and fluctuations in pressure during the testing. Anytime there is work on the water lines and hydrants, we advise residents to run their water until it runs clear.

Please join us on Sunday, April 25th for a presentation by Lyons Prepared members Smita Skrivanek and Stephen Kane as they share their journey and an informal conversation on wildfire preparedness. We have been attending a comprehensive emergency preparedness program and want to share what we have learned about the steps we can take to prepare our properties for a wildfire.

This program is being presented in conjunction with the national May 1st Wildfire Community Preparedness Day sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association and State Farm. Our organization received a small grant to provide educational outreach and mitigation efforts for one property in the fire district.

Finding Joy in Lyons

Finding Joy in Lyons

April is National Poetry Month

Here in Lyons, we are so fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful views and inspiring visual art. Now, the Lyons Arts and Humanities Commission (LAHC) is calling all area poets to submit poems inspired by a similar theme “Finding Joy and Beauty in Lyons” for its inaugural Lyons Poetry in Public Places project.

What does it mean to you, in your everyday life, in your memory, in your heart to find joy and beauty in Lyons?

Put those thoughts on paper in an artful way. LAHC members will serve as judges. Prizes will be award and poems will be selected to be exhibited on posters that will be displayed throughout the Town of Lyons.   Learn more!
