Public Safety Reminders
A message from the Boulder County Sherriff's Department and the Town of Lyons.
Overnight, some Lyons residents experienced vehicle trespassing. On behalf of the Sherriff's office, they are asking for residents help in reporting any information you may have. If you feel you were a victim of a vehicle trespass last night, Feb 8 (ie: door ajar, car ransacked, items missing), they would like you to call it in and report it to dispatch.
Please call it into the Sherriff's office to let them know. The non emergency number is 303.441.4444 A deputy will follow up with you to get a detailed report.
While it may seem like a big city issue, theft is often a crime of opportunity.
Below are safety tips and reminders:
- Lock your doors. Both your home and vehicle(s).
- Do not leave keys in your vehicle.
- Do not leave valuables (wallet, purse, phone, computer) in your vehicle. No valuables in plain sight.
- Puffing (leaving your car running unattended) makes for an easy target and technically is not allowed.
- Keep garage doors closed.
- If you see something suspicious, call it into the Sherriff's office to let them know. The non emergency number is 303.441.4444
- Be neighborly. Look out for each other. If you see your neighbor get a delivery, let your neighbor know.
- We've requested extra enforcement and staffing.
- Remember, if you see something, say something.
Let's look out for each other Lyons.
