Boulder County Fire Updates
8:30 AM WED OCT 21
The Town of Lyons and the Lyons Fire Protection District wants to ensure that our community has the most up to date information regarding the local fires.
As many of you probably heard at last night's virtual community meeting, the winds are forecasted to pick up today.
For the Calwood Fire, the updated acreage is 9,915 and the containment is still 21%.
The Type 2 Team's Facebook page just posted the updated perimeter map and the evacuation warning remains the same at this time.
All evacuation warnings for the Town of Lyons, Lyons Park Estates and all parts North of 7 and West/South of 36 are still in place. As a reminder, an evacuation warning means to be prepared to leave at a moment's notice.
We understand that remaining on warning and having this fire nearby can be incredibly stressful and exhausting. There are so many amazing people working on this fire, and they are prepared to respond to keep everyone safe.
With both fires being managed by a Type Two Fire Operations Management Team, it allows Lyons Fire to maintain focus on the town and our fire district.
We continue to remind all residents in the Town of Lyons to please sign up for the Boulder County emergency messaging system. Let your friends and neighbors know about this important alert service.
