High Pressure in Water System
Town Water Customers
Some water customers in the Town may have experienced significant high pressure in their water and/or water heaters, earlier this afternoon.
Work on the town's water system, north of Main St caused a temporary increase in water pressure for about an hour early this afternoon. The Town has heard from some customers whose water heaters had a
high pressure relief valve, which did function properly and released water due to the increased water pressure. The town is currently trying to understand how the recent work may have impacted others on the town water system.
This is a good reminder that everyone should be sure their hot water heater has a
pressure relief valve installed that is in working order and setup to release water
into a drain.
