Lyons Resources during COVID-19 Watching the world- wide events of late, reminds us that Lyons is a community that has always prided itself on taking care of our neighbors and local businesses, many of which have felt the pain of a downturn in sales.
As citizens, we are all making adjustments to our daily routine to ensure the health and safety of our families, friends, and neighbors. Many of our local businesses have also made great strides and efforts to keep their stores and restaurants safe, clean and open for business, including expanding their services to have delivery and curbside pickup that will reduce too many people to people interactions.
We appreciate that many of you are also limiting exposure and practicing safe, social distancing. The Lyons Chamber of Commerce has a page that is continually updated regarding local business offerings and the Town has a dedicated COVID-19 webpage, with resources and information all in one spot.
Lyons - Grit and Grace Thanks to all of you who continue to support Lyons where you can and to also help contain the spread of germs.

Care Calls ProgramIncluding updated-correct contact info
A Lyons-style shout out to all the leaders and volunteers including the Lyons Emergency & Assistance Fund (LEAF), the Lyons Housing & Human Services Commission, and Boulder County Area Agency on Aging. Earlier this week, in just a matter of two days, 20 volunteers organized and implemented a Care Calls program.
In collaboration with the Town of Lyons, LEAF is now launching the Care Calls program, as part of our community’s response to the COVID-19 disruption. The goal of Care Calls is to ensure the most at-risk among us are regularly phoned by caring local volunteers so they will feel less alone and so they can share serious needs and receive help.
Lyons resident and Lyons Housing and Human Services Commissioner Ellen Keane is coordinating this project. If you or someone you know would like to be included in Care Calls outreach, email Ellen at ekeane@q.com or text 970.985.5523.
If you are interested in volunteering for this or other needs, email volunteer@leaflyons.org

Boulder County Public Health
Jeff Zayach, Director
We ask for your help. We cannot slow the spread of this illness without every single person doing their part. Regardless of whether you think you have been exposed to the virus or not, if you have cold or flu-like symptoms please, please, stay home and away from others. Take time to rest and care for yourself and your loved ones. Of course, if you need medical care, first call your health care provider, and let them know. But if you can manage your symptoms at home, please do so – health care providers are very busy.
And if you’re feeling well, stay well by keeping your distance – at least 6 feet – from others outside your household. And keep your gatherings to fewer than 10 people, and in a way that allows everyone to keep their distance.

Do Not Flush Wipes, Napkins, Paper Towels
|
A reminder from Public Works
Please do not put disinfectant wipes, paper towels or rags used for disinfecting in the toilet or down the drain. These are garbage and belong in the garbage, not in the wastewater system.
Basically, the only things you should ever flush down a toilet are human waste and toilet paper. Even though some products such as wipes claim to be flushable, they aren't.
