Lyons Fire Protection District Limb Drop off and Chipping Event Saturday, November 11th 8 am - noon
On Saturday, November 11 from 8 am - noon, members of the Lyons Fire Protection District will be hosting a limb drop off at the Town of Lyons Public Works Facility, located at 4687 Ute Highway.
If you live within the Lyons Fire Protection District, this is your chance to take advantage of removing any dead limbs from your property and bring them to drop off, where they will be chipped into mulch. Lyons Fire, Boulder County and the Town of Lyons are teaming up to offer this free community event. It will be staffed with members of the Lyons Fire Protection District.
NOTE: This is NOT for other yard waste or bagged leaves. Limbs ONLY. Thank you.

NEW! Tree Lighting Event Friday, November 24 5 PMThe Town of Lyons is excited to announce details for a new event, a 2023 Tree Lighting, kicking off the holiday season. The new festivities will be in the southwest corner of Sandstone Park, at the corner of Railroad Ave and 4th Ave. The tree Lighting event will take place Friday, Nov. 24 at 5:00 p.m. Prepare for a fun, magical start to the holiday season. Bring your family and friends who may be visiting for the Thanksgiving holidays to Sandstone Park to kick-off the season, with our illuminated holiday trees, afterwards head downtown for more holiday lights.

This annual market welcomes locally made art, crafts, and handmade items, and is held on the first weekend in December along with the Annual Holiday Parade of Lights. The theme for the parade is Small Town. Big Heart.
As always, we need your amazing creations and entries, along with your enthusiasm and talent to host our fun and festive community parade. Street Sweeping Beginning
Monday, November 13 Please Move Vehicles Off Street if Possible During Sweeping Efforts
Street sweeping is scheduled to take place for all Town of Lyons streets beginning on Monday, November 13 between 4-5 a.m. starting on High Street. The goal for Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14 is to complete the North side of town in this approximate order of areas (hitting all streets in between) moving West to East.

Any assistance from residents in parking off street or moving vehicles and removing debris from the curb would be greatly appreciated while these services are being performed. Contractor will not clean or sweep where items are items obstructing the roadway.

Boulder County's ProgramWildfire Mitigation
Boulder County has taken a significant leap forward in its commitment to community safety and environmental stewardship with its recent launch of the Wildfire Partners Community Chipping Program. The program supports all county residents with managing the high-risk vegetation on their properties, fostering a safer, cleaner, and more fire-resilient environment for all through proactive measures to reduce wildfire risk.
The county chipping program is free to Boulder County residents, allowing adequate disposal of slash — green branches, and brush — in a safe and sustainable manner. The program is actively improving defensible space around properties and reducing the potential for fire to spread.
Key Points - To be eligible, one person or household assumes the role of “Chipping Event Host” for at least five properties.

- The Boulder County Chipping Program is a free service provided by the Wildfire Mitigation Sales Tax, approved by voters in Nov. 2022.

A minimum of five participating neighbors is required to host a community chipping event. At each community event, a County approved chipping contractor will provide the chipping services and haul the chips to a partnering donation site.
