Board of Trustees Meeting Recap
Highlights from the March 20 BOT Meeting:
The Board of Trustees met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Mar 20, 2023. They had three public hearings, the consent agenda, general business items and more. The BOT approved Ord. 1142, at the second reading, approving an increase in the local marijuana sales tax to 5%, up from the 3.5% . Per the voters, the BOT may increase the marijuana sales tax up to ten percent (10%) by ordinance, without the need for voter approval. There were two additional public hearings. A first reading to amend a section of the LMC to allow for an increase in the maximum capacity of customer owned generation of electricity to 25 kilowatts, up from 10 kilowatts.
