Milling and Paving
Evans St., 4th Ave., 3rd Ave., and 2nd Ave. | McConnell Dr. & 2nd Ave.
This project includes important milling and paving, along with curb and gutter in some areas, on several flood-impacted local streets. This grant-funded flood recovery project will be completed in phases, as scheduled to occur from May 11 through July 31. Check this page for weekly updates from the contractor.

What’s happening this week? 6/1 - 6/6
- Concrete crews are forming and pouring curb and gutter on 4th Ave from the alley to Evans Ave and continuing on Evans to 3rd Ave
- Continued asphalt removal along Evans from 3rd Ave to 2nd Ave – so no on street parking in this area until project is complete
- Water meter relocations – this will temporarily affect a few resident’s water service while crews complete this work. Contractor will notify those affected directly.
- Pipe crews are scheduled to start installing new storm drain along Evans Ave
What’s happening next week? 6/8 - 6/13
- Concrete crews are scheduled to continue to form and pour new curb and gutter on Evans from 3rd Ave to 2nd Ave and on 4th Ave Railroad to Park
- Pipe crews will continue to install the new storm drain system along Evans
- Asphalt removal on 3rd Ave from Railroad to Evans
- Reconstructing the roadway subgrade on 4th Ave and Evans Ave
What’s coming in the next few weeks? 6/15 - 6/20
- Pipe crews are scheduled to continue to install the new storm drain system along Evans and 4th Ave as well as construct modifications to the Lyons Ditch at 2nd Ave and Evans
- Reconstruct driveways 4th Ave and along Evans
- Installation of a new waterline on 3rd Ave between Evans and Railroad
- Asphalt removal on 2nd Ave from Evans to Park
- New curb and gutter on Evans from 3rd Ave to 2nd Ave
- The old guardrail at the curve will be removed at the curve and new guardrail will be placed
- Asphalt placement on 4th Ave Railroad to Evans
All work described is subject to change based on weather conditions and materials supply. Thank you to all residents for their assistance with moving their vehicles and patience as we reconstruct our public roads.
As a continued reminder, this is an active construction zone and please stay out of the roadway when work is occurring, especially children!
Safety tip! – if you have the need to enter the construction zone, please give our flaggers a heads up and they can tell you how best to stay safe. Plus it’s a boring job and they would love a quick chat!
