Milling and Paving 

Evans St., 4th Ave., 3rd Ave., and 2nd Ave. | McConnell Dr. & 2nd Ave.

This project includes important milling and paving, along with curb and gutter in some areas, on several flood-impacted local streets. This grant-funded flood recovery project will be completed in phases, as scheduled to occur from May 11 through July 31. Check this page for weekly updates from the contractor.

What’s been completed this week: 

  • 2nd Ave has been repaved from Bohn Park to McConnell 
  • McConnell has been repaved from 2nd Ave to the McConnell Bridge project limits
  • We have striping to complete on these new pavements as well as repair a concrete cross pan at Cobblestone Ct. 

What happened this week: 

  • Asphalt removal and roadway subgrade repair on 4th Ave from Railroad Ave to Evans Ave & on Evans Ave from 4th to 3rd 
  • Grade preparation for the new curb and gutter in these same areas.

    Thank you to all residents for moving their vehicles! 

What’s happening next week: 

  • Concrete crews will began forming and pouring curb and gutter on 4th Ave from the alley to Evans Ave and continuing on Evans to 3rd Ave 
  • Pipe crews will be installing new storm drain along Evans Ave
  • The old guardrail will be removed at the curve and new guardrail will be placed 
  • Reconstructing the roadway subgrade
  • Continued asphalt on Evans from 3rd Ave to 2nd Ave – so no on street parking in this area until project is complete 

What’s coming in the next few weeks: 

  • Installation of a new waterline on 3rd Ave between Evans and Railroad 
  • Asphalt removal on 3rd Ave from Broadway to Evans 
  • New curb and gutter on Evans from 3rd Ave to 2nd Ave 
  • Asphalt milling on Evans from 4th to 2nd Ave 

Thank you to all residents for their assistance with moving their vehicles and patience as we reconstruct the roadways. Reminder this is an active construction zone and please stay out of the roadway when work is occurring, especially children! It is very difficult for the equipment operators and truck drivers to see your wee lil ones!
