New Business License Application

A Town of Lyons Business License is required for all businesses located and/or conducting business within the Town of Lyons, including Home Occupations. Approval of your Business License application is necessary prior to operating a business. The application should be submitted early to ensure your proposed business is compliant with the Lyons Municipal Code.

Mobile Food Vendors

All mobile food vendors are required to hold a Town of Lyons business license. There is a separate application for a New Mobile Food Vendor Business License.

Home Businesses

Home businesses must be licensed with the Town of Lyons. If you are operating a business out of your residence please fill out the Home Business License Application.

There are restrictions on what types of businesses are allowed to operate in a residentially zoned area.

Sales Tax Collection and Remittance

As a statutory Town, the Town of Lyons sales tax is collected and remitted to the State of Colorado Department of Revenue. We have created a Sales Tax Brochure PDF for all local businesses and vendors in Lyons. If you have questions, please contact the Colorado Department of Revenue.

The following application is for businesses seeking to renew their annual Business License, and do not have any changes to the business use (i.e. the type of operations) from last year. An example of a changed use is a business that was licensed and operated as an office last year, but has added/intends to add a retail component. If you have changed the use to your business, please use the link below to complete a Change of Use Business License Renewal application. The following application is for businesses seeking to renew their annual Business License, but have changed/increased the business's use, (i.e. the type of operations) from last year. An example of a chance of use is a business that was licensed and operated as an office last year, but now there's an added retail component. If this applies to your business, please complete this application and include information for both/all uses.

Contractors License

The Town of Lyons Contractor License application may be submitted through the online form, or a printable PDF. To submit a PDF application, please attach in an email to licensing@townoflyons.com, or mail to the address listed below. Online submissions will automatically be sent to the Permit Technician, and do not need to be sent separately.

Payment

To pay the Contractor License fee of $50, please mail a check or money order (please do not mail cash), along with any other applicable material (Certificate of Insurance, etc.) to the address below. Please ensure the business name and contact information is enclosed within the envelope. Or, you may pay by cash, check, or money order in-person at Lyons Town Hall.

Once all documentation has been received, payment can be processed.
