Pothole Patching

Pothole Patching, 2nd & 4th Ave.

Beginning October 28


On October 28 and 29, crews will be patching and filling potholes on 2nd Avenue, between the 2nd Avenue bridge and Evans Street, and on 4th Avenue, between Main Street and Broadway. They will also work on the east crosswalk of 4th and High St., on the west end of Lyons Elementary's driveway. 

Traffic may temporarily be closed to one lane while the setting takes place. Please be cautious of workers when driving along these areas.

If you live within the Town of Lyons (proper), and have extra scrap metal and/or Styrofoam, the Lyons Volunteers are here to help! The Volunteers are hosting another free pick-up of scrap metal and Styrofoam, on Wednesday, October 23.

To request the Volunteers to pick up scrap metal and/or hard block Styrofoam from your residence, visit Lyonsvolunteers.org and fill out the online work request form. Lyons Volunteers will get back to you to schedule the pickup of scrap metal/hard block Styrofoam at your property.

Digital Paper

Digital Paper Meeting

Wednesday, Oct. 23 | 6:30 to 8 p.m.


An online version of the Lyons Recorder is in the works, but plenty of help is needed create this new digital local news source for the Lyons community.

On Wednesday, October 23, all interested writers, editors, columnists, graphic people, parents, photographers, and all others are invited to discuss and plan the establishment of a digital paper. Editor in Chief, Ken Singer, hopes to get the first issue out within a week or two.

The meeting will be held at the Lyons Community Library, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. If you are interested, but cannot come Wednesday, please email Ken Singer at: ksinger48@gmail.com.

Drug Take-Back Day

October 26 | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lyons Sheriff's Substation, 430 Park Ave.


The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. On Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., unused or expired medication can be safely disposed of at the Boulder County Sheriff's Substation in Lyons, 430 Park Ave. (next to Town Hall).

Lyons, and tigers, and bears - oh my! The spooky season has arrived! Grab your costume and join the community on October 26, for the 2019 Lyons Halloween Spooktacular. This year's activities include the Stone Cup Chili Cook-off, music, Bongo the Balloon Man, live performances by the Pride of the Roaring Lyons Show Choir, tricks, treats, and games for ghouls and goblins, all leading up to the parade through Town.

Games and activities will be held at Lyons Elementary School east playground, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Volunteer!

Lyons' annual events, such as the Halloween Spooktacular, have a deep tradition in community involvement, and couldn't happen without the team of volunteers. This year's shifts are short (2-hour max) and full of ghostly fun! Your support for our special, long-standing events are essential and greatly appreciated. Sign up for a shift today!

Feed the Cookie Monster Toiletries

Help support the Lyons Emergency Assistance Fund (LEAF), by donating new and unused toiletries! Please bring donations to the spooky games and activities at Lyons Elementary, and look for the Cookie Monster can!

Downtown Trick-or-Treating

All are welcome to be a part of the parade! The parade lineup will begin at 5:45 p.m., on 3rd and High St. in front of the elementary school; the parade down Main Street will begin promptly at 6 p.m., followed by downtown trick-or-treating at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, October 25 | Wildflower Pavilion | LEAF Fundraiser


The 5th annual Rave to the Grave is coming your way on October 25, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass. This event is free to the public but generous donations are encouraged. All proceeds go to support the Lyons Emergency & Assistance Fund (LEAF). Get your costumes dusted off and get ready to dance to Arthur Lee Land and gogoLab, plus many more special guests.

October 26 - 31 | Shows run from 7 to 11 p.m.


Bringing you a hauntingly fun filled adventure with twists and turns that will delight and fright you as you hunt clues, special items and hidden packages, while we guide through a mystery venture to save the town! Early shows are tailored for the whole family, while later shows are for the night owls seeking even more action and excitement!

ZTour is located in the open lot next to Lyons Fork and Art Pharm, 446 Main Street. Tickets go on sale on October 26 - get yours early! A portion of ZTour proceeds benefit Lyons Emergency Assistance Fund (LEAF).
