Good Old Days

Saturday, June 29 | Lyons Redstone Museum


The Lyons Good Old Days Celebration is an occasion to celebrate the rich history of the town and enjoy the people, places and activities that makes Lyons such a special community. This year, in honor of the 40th Anniversary of the Lyons Redstone Museum, all festivities will take place at the Lyons Redstone Museum (340 High Street) and Lyons Elementary School.

There will be kids activities and games, live music, Dizzy's Fun Center, the Good Old Days Car Show, face painting, museum tours, and root beer floats - all to celebrate being Rooted in Lyons! Join the fun!

Lyons/Nederland Omnium Road & Criterium Races



Peak to Peak Road Race - Saturday, June 29

On Saturday, June 29, the CEMEX Safer Roads Together will host a Peak to Peak bicycle road race, starting in Lyons and ending in Nederland. The starting line will be staged near Sandstone Park, along Railroad Avenue, with start times ranging from 7 to 8:45 a.m. Traffic is expected to be congested around this area, until approximately 9:15 a.m. The route follows SH-7 to the Peak to Peak Highway, with an estimated 11:30 a.m. finish in Nederland.


Criterium Race - Sunday, June 30

On the following Sunday, June 30, the Crit Race will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in a continuous loop from 4th Ave. and Broadway east to the Park St. and US-36 intersection, and trailing back along Railroad Ave. to 4th Ave. (map below).

Residents to the south of Railroad, along Park and Evans St. between 1st and 3rd Ave., should use 2nd Ave. at Park St. to McConnell for eastern entrance/exit, and 5th Ave. for western traffic.

All races were approved by the Boulder County Special Events Permit process, in conjunction with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado State Patrol.

The Town of Lyons has hired a contractor to pick up tree limbs Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28. All limbs must be placed out by 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 27.

Sandstone Summer Concert Series

Summer in Lyons: the air is warm, the creek's flowing, and the Raul Vasquez Stage is rocking at Sandstone Park! The 2019 Sandstone Summer Concert Series take place Thursdays, through August 15 (except July 4) in Sandstone Park, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

On stage on June 27, Von Hodads with Taylor Sims. So pack up the family and blankets, and plan to spend your Summer Thursdays at Sandstone Park!

Reminder: Tubing Ban Enacted for the St. Vrain


In the interest of public safety, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office and the Lyons Fire Protection District has enacted a tubing ban, beginning June 21. The ban pertains to all single-chamber flotation devices, and encompasses the North and South St. Vrain Creeks and the St. Vrain River, from the western county line through the entire length of Boulder County.  

The ban will be in effect until further notice.
